GBS control is an improved GBS8200 RGB to VGA converter board, and an alternative firmware for Tvia Trueview5725 based upscaler / Video converter board. The firmware of this device is powered by gbs-control designed by ramapcsx2, used with permission under an open-source copyright.

Attentions:

1) This device can't support composite and S-video signal. As well as can't support JP RGB21 and RF.

2) HDMI and VGA outputs will not both work at the same time, You will only need one connected at a time.

3) If you want to switch the video input signal (when you have more than one input video source connected into this device), you need to power off the device first to avoid potentially damaging the device.

5) Applicable Power Adapter: Connect a suitable 5V2A, 2.1 x 5.5mm PSU.

FIRMWARE UPDATES GUIDE

STEP1: Download the NodeMCU-pyFlasher: (https://github.com/marcelstoer/nodemcu-pyflasher/releases)

GBS control firmware: (https://github.com/RetroScaler/GBSC)

STEP2: Open “nodemcu-PyFlasher”

Connect the GBS control to your computer using the micro usb cable. Select the

proper COM port for your computer and choose the latest GBS control firmware.

STEP3: Click "Flash NodeMCU". then wait for the installation to complete.

WEB GUI INTRODUCTIONS

STEP1: Search for WIFI through phone or PC.

WifiName: gbscontrol

Password: qqqqqqqq

STEP2: Enter IP (192.168.4.1) or URL (http://gbscontrol) in the browser address bar and go.

STEP3: Click GBSC to enter the configuration page.

Q1: Whether to install the clock module?

A1: Built in Si5351 stable clock generator.

Q2: Is it possible to upgrade the firmware?

Q3: Is this product developed based on the open source project gbs-control?

A3: Yes, only the software version of this product is based on the open source project gbs-control, the hardware version is completely self-designed, and has been open source, please check for details（https://github.com/RetroScaler/GBSC）.

Q4: Parameters cannot be set on the web UI interface?

A4: lf you want to save your customizations, first select a slot for your new preset, then saveto or load from that slot.

Q5: What format video signal is supported？

A5: Supported standards are NTSC / PAL, the EDTV and HD formats.

Q6: GBSC cannot output HDMI video signal.

A6: The first step : check whether the HDMI switch is turned on,

The second step : call up the signal detection function through the OLED display to check whether there is a signal input.

The third step :If no input signal is detected, check whether the correct signal source is input.

Q7: Does GBSC support simultaneous output of VGA signal and HDMI signal?

A7: Unable to output at the same time, it will cause the video screen to be dark.

Q8: Why is there a problem with the picture when using VGA signal input?
